Oligopeptide-76 description

Oligopeptide-76 is a synthetic peptide comprised of 13 amino acids - alanine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, glycine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, phenylalanine, and serine. While there isn’t an extensive amount of research on oligopeptide-76’s performance in skin care products, what does exist is very interesting. In addition to the usual skin barrier improvement that most peptides provide, there is evidence suggesting that oligopeptide-76 has antimicrobial properties, including against _Cutibacterium acnes_, the organism whose pathogenic strains are chiefly responsible for acne breakouts. Oligopeptide-76 is also known by its trade name, SpecPed® O76P. The recommended use level of oligopeptide-76 in cosmetics is 0.001-0.1%, a testament to its potency.
